Vietnam’s First McDonald’s Has Served More than 400,000 Customers
Henry Nguyen, owner of Good Day Hospitality, which operates McDonald's in Vietnam, announced yesterday that the company’s first Vietnamese branch served over 400,000 customers in its first month of operation, according toBloomberg.
The city’s first McDonald’s has been packed since the day it opened and it's common to see long lines of cars and motorbikes snaking through the drive-thru, also a first in Vietnam.
Nguyen seemed to be pleased, saying that the performance exceeded “even what we thought were pretty high expectations.”
Nguyen added that 22,500 of the 400,000 customers were served in the first 24 hours of operation and that in the first month of business, 61,980 Big Macs were sold.
The city's second McDonald's location on Tran Hung Dao st. in District 1 looks like it's set to open in the next few months.
Considering the fanfare around the company's first Vietnam branch, it will be interesting to see if McDonald's can build on this intense momentum.
