Abandoned Temple.
Parts of central District 2 are currently a mish-mash of leveled neighborhoods where all that remain are the skeletons of old buildings.
There is a grand design in the works for the area but for now, it's eerily quiet, devoid of the unrelenting construction sounds that echo throughout most of the city. Mike, over at Along the Mekong, recently had some time to kill in District 2 and stumbled upon an old temple, one of the last reminders of the neighborhood that used to occupy the Thu Thiem Peninsula.
Mike offers plenty of pictures from the neighborhood and the temple which he feels is the ultimate contrast between old Saigon and the glistening office towers that sit just across the river.
